Basketball: Anderson to keep her GB team place

Have your say

IT IS believed that Scotland’s only representative, Olympic 2012 veteran Rose Anderson, has retained her place in Great Britain’s basketball team for this weekend’s invitation tournament in Sodertalj, Sweden which will be their last match preparation for Eurobasket, the European Championships in France beginning on June 15.

GB defeated Israel 71-64 and Germany 68-64 after overtime before losing narrowly to Greece 69-66 in last weekend’s tournament in Guildford.

Anderson scored just two points versus Israel on the Saturday and a solitary three-pointer against Germany in the televised game last Sunday, in which she also committed some turn-overs.

She was then rested or “rotated” for the final game versus Greece but an official insisted she had not been dropped.
