Basketball: Boroughmuir are buzzing

Have your say

Boroughmuir coach Simon Turner “just can’t wait” for his team’s first home Scottish League game against Stirling Knights at the Crags Sports Centre tomorrow (12.20pm).

“We’ve had a competitive process in selecting the team with a lot of interest from new players,” said Turner who has lost two of last season’s stalwarts, Ben Warrington and Davy Rowan, who will concentrate on playing for Edinburgh University only. John Browne’s playing very well and a former Blaze junior, Yannick Onifade, has stepped up very well from the Lothian team.”

After a year with Glasgow University, Gregor Auld has returned to the fold for Blaze. Knights went down tamely in their opening home game to Edinburgh Kings, who have no fixture this weekend.

Kings juniors host Perth Phoenix at Portobello HS (1pm) while Blaze juniors host Highland Bears at the Crags (4.20pm).
