Rocks star Bunyan in Fury before cup final

Scottish international point guard Jonny Bunyan is showing his commitment this weekend by playing for unbeaten Falkirk Fury in their Scottish League game with Edinburgh Kings at Portobello High School tomorrow morning before driving to Birmingham to turn out for Glasgow Rocks against Newcastle Eagles in the BBL Cup final on Sunday.

Kings will be without their own international guard Lee Reilly, who continues to be troubled by the leg injury which kept him out of their last game of 2014, their Scottish Cup semi-final defeat against Fury at the Mariner Centre.

Kings will also be without two of their best rebounders Matt Kruczynnski and Steven Dickson, with students Douglas Leslie and Niall Mackle coming in for a game tipping off at the early hour of 11.15am.

Meanwhile, sixth-place Edinburgh University men face an 11.20am start against eighth-place Tayside Musketeers at Broughty Ferry.

Second-place Boroughmuir Barrs head for St Columba’s High where they will be expected to beat Dunfermline Reign and strengthen their own title credentials.

Glasgow University have had their home game against Troon Tornadoes called off by BasketballScotland due to a shortage of referees. Edinburgh University women host Polonia Phoenix at the Pleasance at 12.50pm, with some of the Polonia players warming up by helping to steward the Great Edinburgh Cross Country.

Unbeaten league leaders Edinburgh Kool Kats are without a game.
