Bowls: Bellsburn maintain good Top Ten start

Bellsburn may be representing the West Lothian champions in The Co-operative Funeralcare-sponsored Inter County Top Ten Tournament for the first time, but the Linlithgow-based club have won two games to reach the quarter-finals.

Having defeat Stranraer West End away from home, they followed up with an impressive 7-1 victory at home to Castle Douglas.

Scott Middlemiss was the “man of the match” with the spearhead figure in the Singles romping to a 21-6 win in 16 ends over John Crawford, while Simon Lamb carded 4 at the last to skip his rink to a 17-16 victory.

A strong display in the Triples saw Alan Murphy skip Stuart Mackay and Jack Murphy into a 13-6 lead, then hold on to 
win 13-10, while Sam Gray and Craig Yeaman in the Pairs finished peels at 18-18.
