MIDLOTHIAN bowlers Ronnie Duncan and Colin Walker will face Wales in the final of the Pairs at the British Isles Championships after a 27-12 victory over Ireland at the Stanley IBC in County Durham.

In the Junior Singles, Midlothian’s Stacey Laidlaw takes on England’s Chloe Wordingham in the final after beating Amy Williams of Wales 21-17.

And Laidlaw will contest two finals having skipped Kelly McDougall, Alison Plenderleith and Gaynor Duncan to a dramatic 21-20 semi-final win over England in the Fours. The Scots will take on Ireland for the title.

Meanwhile, Billy Mellors won his prelim 21-6 but made a 21-16 exit to Jamie Walker of England in the semi-final of the Singles and was joined on the sidelines at the same stage by his East Lothian colleagues Yvonne Veitch, Mags Thomson, and Emma Brown, who lost 25-18 to England in the Triples.
