Edinburgh champions Slateford will look forward to the 2016 outdoor bowling season, fired up by an ambition to make a title-winning impression on the Co-operative Funeralcare-sponsored Scottish Inter County Top Ten Championship.

Slateford, winners in seasons 1996 and 1997, have received a bye into the first round proper and will launch their bid with a challenging away trip to Argyll & Bute champions Argyll on Sunday, May 22.

The championship, which will see its semi-finals and final played in the Capital at Colinton BC on Sunday, June 12, has been boosted by the continued support of its sponsor.

John Taylor, Community Engagement Manager for The Co-operative Funeralcare, said “Supporting the local communities we serve is right at the heart of our heritage and that goal is well served by our association with The Scottish Inter County Top Ten as it is an event that touches a bowls population that is over 60,000 strong.”
