Lightweight Easton, 24, has enjoyed a terrific start to life in the paid ranks, the former Craigmillar amateur registering his fourth victory in Glasgow on Saturday night with a fourth-round stoppage of Jan Korec of the Czech Republic.

The Edinburgh fighter has now delivered three knock-outs from his four pro-bouts and says the hard-working ethos of his coaching team is paying dividends in the ring.

“The power has always been there to be honest,” Easton said. “I started to gain a lot more confidence in my last year as an amateur and managed quite a few stoppages. I owe so much though to my strength and conditioning coach John who I’ve been working with almost every day. And Kenny and Gary have also been absolutely fantastic with me and have given up so much of their time. I wouldn’t be where I am without all their help so I can’t thank them enough.

“I don’t go looking for the knock downs but they’ve come along nicely recently. I’ve had a great start to my professional career.

“My knuckles took a bit of a pounding as I caught him [Korec] so many times but he just wouldn’t go down. I have so much respect for him. I could see him grimacing but he kept coming. But I eventually got the knock out so I’m delighted.”
