Edinburgh boxer Craig McEwan will tonight fight only his second bout this year when he takes to the ring at the BB King Blues Club in Manhattan, New York.
The super middleweight, 31, has endured a hugely frustrating spell in recent months, unable to secure an opponent since his last fight against Alistair Warren in April was brought to a halt after the Englishman suffered a cut to his head. The ‘Seasons Beatings’ card, promoted by Lou DiBella, will see McEwan fight a six-rounder with an opponent who, at this stage, is still to be disclosed.
McEwan, who was once a prodigy of Golden Boy Promotions and resided in Los Angeles for six years, will aim to take full advantage of fighting in a location that boasts such a lucrative market for the sport.
He will hope to return to the Capital with a win under his belt before stepping up his preparations for next year.
