Meadowbank boxer Lee McGregor and Lochend’s Ryan McCutcheon will contest an all-Edinburgh Scottish Championships’ final next month after winning their 56kg semi-final bouts on Saturday.

GB development squad boxer McGregor, 19, eased past Forgewood’s Matthew Middleton at Ravenscraig Sports Complex by a unanimous decision. McCutcheon won the same result against the Barn’s Darren Shannon.

Sean Spence, also of Meadowbank, will face Greenock’s Robbie McKechnie in the 64kg final after a unanimous victory over Auchengeich’s Jack Crawford.

Lochend’s James Nelson defeated Boris Crighton in their 81kg clash and Livingston’s Elaine Greenan (64kg) saw off Gemma Rose McIntosh.

There was, however, defeat for Spence’s brother, Owen, against Durie’s Danny Burke in their 75kg duel.

The finals will be held on Saturday, April 2, at Ravenscraig.
