Super middleweight boxer Brian Forsyth says he is relishing some time away from the sport over the summer but only after he delivers the fifth victory of his professional career tonight.
The 29-year-old picked up his fourth win at Meadowbank just two weeks ago and now faces Lancashire’s Curtis Gurgano at Grangemouth Sports Complex.
The former Scottish champion has recently had some personal issues to overcome.
“I’ve had my eye on having a wee break with things that have gone on,” he said. “I’m not going to be back out until probably September or October time which is great as I’ll get to spend some proper time with the family. I might try and get some sponsors on board as well so that would be a great help going forward.
“I’ve not had to do much training for this one so it’s just been about keeping my weight ticking over. The Hibs/Rangers game has affected ticket sales a wee bit as every man and their dog is wanting to go through to Glasgow. But I think it’s still going to be a good show. I just need to get another win under my belt. I watched him [Gurgano] against Tommy Philbin at Meadowbank two weeks ago and he’s a tough opponent.”
