Edinburgh’s IBO Inter-Continental super lightweight champion Jason Easton has signed a long-term promotional agreement with Barry McGuigan’s Cyclone Promotions.
The 25-year-old former Craigmillar amateur has scored ten straight wins since joining the paid ranks in the summer of 2015. He will be hoping to make a first successful defence of his IBO title at the Royal Highland Centre at Ingliston on Saturday, November 11, the same evening WBC Silver and Commonwealth super lightweight champion and now stablemate, Josh Taylor, faces Mexican Miguel Vazquez. Easton’s opponent, though, is still to be announced.
“I’m delighted to have signed a long-term deal with Cyclone,” Easton said. “They have developed some of the most exciting boxers in Britain and Ireland. I know I’m with the best team possible to take me to the top.”
Easton will continue to be managed by Billy Nelson and McGuigan is delighted to have the Capital fighter on board. “Jason is a brilliant lad who has proven he can really fight,” the former WBA featherweight champion said. “He is learning all of the time and he has a great deal of potential. We are very pleased to have him join the Cyclone team.”
