Edinburgh's Lee McGregor will defend his British and Commonwealth bantamweight titles as MTK Global stable-mate Josh Taylor puts his WBA and IBF world super lightweight belts on the line against Thailand's Apinun Khongsong.

The 23-year-old will return to the SSE Hydro in Glasgow on Saturday, May 2, as he looks to stretch his unbeaten record as a professional to nine.

McGregor added the British to his Commonwealth title with a scintillating victory over Scottish compatriot Kash Farooq at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow in November.

McGregor's opponent for his May showdown is still to be announced.

"I’m super excited for this," McGregor said. "I can’t wait to get back out there in front of my home crowd once again. My opponent will be announced in the next week or so. It's going to be another huge night for Scottish boxing."

It will also be Taylor's fight time in the ring since he defeated Regis Prograis in the final of the WBSS in October.
