Lewis PAULIN kept up his undefeated record as a professional boxer with a straight-forward victory over Lithuanian Simas Volosinas in Glasgow on Friday night.
Boxing on the undercard of 2014 Commonwealth Games gold medalist Charlie Flynn at the Glasgow City Hotel, an event screened live by STV Edinburgh and STV Glasgow, the super featherweight looked assured in each of his six rounds to register his fifth win since signing with promoter Alex Morrison last spring.
The former Meadowbank amateur, 25, is looking to make a real impact in the sport and has already been confirmed on the bill of Ricky Burns’ WBA world super lightweight title fight against Michele Di Rocco at the SSE Hydro in May.
“You don’t get much bigger than fighting on a bill for a world title so I’m really buzzing for this one now,” Paulin said. “It’s hard not to lose your focus when that one is on the horizon but I’m glad I got the win on Friday. I hope I can raise a few eyebrows and get some more exposure.”
