Josh Taylor and Lewis Benson both achieved success in their respective bouts in the ‘Burns Challenge’ in Australia.
Olympian Taylor, 23, stopped his opponent Stefano Cosentino in the third round of his 64kg fight while 22-year-old Benson beat Abe Archibald by a split decision in his 69kg clash.
Both boxers tweeted about their latest victories Down Under with Taylor saying: “Won my fight tonight by third round KO, had him down three times. Body shot ended the fight. Best I’ve felt on the lead-up to a fight in a long time, most relaxed and flowing as well. I felt great. I’m going to be flying come Commonwealth Games time.”
Meanwhile, Benson said: “Another win in the bag, performance wasn’t great but I don’t want to peak until the Games. Eight fights unbeaten, roll on Glasgow 2014!”
Both are due to return home early next week with Team Scotland after a three-week training camp in Canberra.
