Former Edinburgh super middleweight boxer Sean Heron will make a return to the ring for charity against former WBO middleweight and super middleweight champion Steve Collins.
The fight night scheduled for Friday, September 12 at Meadowbank, will include a four-bout undercard before Heron and Irishman Collins contest a maximum of six rounds in aid of motor neurone disease – an illness that claimed the life of Heron’s father, Thomas, in August 2006.
Heron, who runs the Edinburgh Boxing Academy in Granton, said: “It’s the worst illness I’ve witnessed so I want to raise some money. Fighting a former world champion will be a real test, but I’m really looking forward to it.”
Tickets will range between £30 to £60, with more details to be announced in due course.
