The former Scottish amateur champion sealed his fifth pro-victory on Saturday night with a comfortable points win over Middleton’s Curtis Gargano at Grangemouth Sports Complex.

The 29-year-old will now take some time out from the sport before returning to the ring later this year.

“Hopefully we can get some title fights after the summer. Between now and my next fight I’m going to focus on getting myself stronger and more defined. I want to get my weight down to bang on 12 stone,” Forsyth told POITV. “There hasn’t been any date confirmed yet for my next fight but hopefully it’s September the 20th as that’s my 30th birthday. That would be good.

“I felt the performance on Saturday was brilliant. I never took any silly shots so everything was sharp. I expected him to come and have a go, but I threw the punches and everything came off.”
