Cameron Tindle handed second chance to claim spot at Euros

Capital sprinting prospect Cameron Tindle has been given a second chance to earn a place in the British squad for next month's European Junior Championships in Grosseto.

The Edinburgh AC teen missed out on his chance to automatically book a spot when he slumped to fourth place in the 200 metres at last weekend’s trials in Bedford.

It meant he was not among the initial 32-strong team named yesterday which included clubmates Alisha Rees in the women’s 200m and Holly McArthur in the heptathlon, as well as fellow Scots Jemma Reekie, Ben Greenwood and George Evans.

But, with selectors only initially picking two people in his favourite event, Tindle been granted a shot of faith with a slot in the GB&NI Junior line-up for the Mannheim
International in Germany next week with an opportunity to advance his case.
