With the quarter-final tie in the west having been postponed three times due to the wet weather, the two sides agreed to play a Twenty20 clash on Tuesday evening to settle things.

Thankfully Glenpark had dried up in time and batting first Carlton made 121-9.

However, they did not get off to the best of starts when Rory McCann was out for four in the first over.

Kyle Macpherson and Fraser Watts then joined him back in the pavilion, but Arun Pillai stood firm and made a vital 41 to hoist them up to a decent total.

Mario Olivier took a wicket in the first over of Greenock’s reply and their batsmen never settled after that. They finished on 75-9 as Carlton went on to win by 46-runs.
