The Midlothian men headed to Boghall on the back of a Baillie Gifford ESCA Championship win at Holy Cross at the weekend.

And they clearly took confidence from that into the Twenty20 encounter, restricting the home side to 104-7 batting first.

Heynrych Nel, Calum Steel and Kris Steel all took two wickets apiece for Penicuik with Scott Cochrane making 33 not out for Linlithgow.

In their response, Penicuik lost opener Nel and others early, but a good partnership from Cash and Stuart Chalmers helped them through.

Cash made 43 not out and former Scotland cap Chalmers 25 to steady the ship with the former hitting four fours and a six in his innings and the latter stroking three fours.

With Chalmers out, Matthew Foulds joined Cash at the crease and finished on four not out as the Kirkhill men won by five wickets with four balls to spare.

The other semi-final between Mazars Grange and Carlton was rained off and is in the process of being rearranged.

The final takes place on July 1 at Grange Loan.
