City of Edinburgh march on towards volleyball title

City OF Edinburgh took another stride towards the women's SVL Premier volleyball title with a comfortable 25-18, 25-15, 25-20 win over Edinburgh University.

In the first match in the play-offs, City are in a commanding position but Su Ragazzi have not given up hope.

The teams are due to meet twice before the end of the season and Su Ragazzi coach Vince Krawczyk admits there is no margin for error. “We’re effectively two wins down given results earlier in the season so we really need to win all our remaining matches,” he said.

In the women’s bottom-three play-offs, Edinburgh NUVOC went down 23-25, 18-25, 15-25 at Aberdonia.

In the men’s bottom-three play-offs, Edinburgh Jets went down 22-25, 24-26, 16-25 at former champions South Ayrshire.
