MacGillivary made a slow start. After the opening two frames were shared, Totten won three on the spin to lead 4-1. However, MacGillivray fought back to win the next three frames with runs of 40 and 69 to level the match at 4-4.

Totten then showed great composure, making a break of 50 in the ninth frame before winning the next to lead 6-4. He then rolled in a break of 68 to pocket a 7-4 victory which ensured he finished the season as Scottish number one.

Totten’s victory means that he is the youngest player since seven-time world champion Stephen Hendry won the title before going professional.
