Accies skipper Andrew Cosh leads way with century

Edinburgh Accies captain Andrew Cosh ensured his side got off to a flying start in Baillie Gifford East One with a century to help them defeat Musselburgh on Saturday.

At Cavalry Park, Accies batted first and made an impressive 270-6 with Cosh leading the way with his three figures.

Musselburgh mounted a fairly good response, but the Accies bowlers kept their discipline and the men from East Lothian were all out for 234.

After relegation, West Lothian got off to a good start in the division by easing past St Boswells.

At Boghall, their bowlers were on top form to skittle the visitors out for 116 and then they reached the victory target with seven wickets in hand.

Edinburgh South’s first match after relegation ended in defeat though, the Capital side going down by 76 runs to Gala at Inch Park.

The Heriot’s II-Watsonians II match was off following heavy overnight rain as was Kelso-Dunnikier.

In East Two, Livingston overseas amateur Ruan Erasmus scored a half century on his debut to help them defeat SMRH II.

His 59 at Dresselrig was the mainstay of the hosts’ innings as they posted 178 all out. He then took two wickets as SMRH II were bowled out for 162.
