Asim Ahmed took four wickets as Musselburgh defeated Watsonians II in Baillie Gifford East One.
At Lewisvale, the visitors won the toss and decided to bat first, but they came up against an in-form Musselburgh bowling unit. Hemant Verma got the key wicket of opener Ryan Murray for 19 and the Sonians innings never really got going.
The Edinburgh outfit were all out for 120 in the 41st over, Ahmeed doing some damage with 4-10 from just 4.5 overs while Rizwan Ullah took three wickets too.
Opening bowlers Chris Willsdon and Murdo Macleod made early inroads in Musselburgh’s reply, but 46 not out by Deepanshu Solanki saw the men from East Lothian home by five wickets.
The result puts Musselburgh in third place while Edinburgh Accies, in fourth, lost to Kelso.
At Shedden Park, the Borderers posted 247-4 and Accies gave it a good go in their run ended up short on 219-8.
Hassan Durrani took two wickets for Heriot’s II as they restricted Dunnikier to 195-9, but the Edinburgh side gave away 47 extras. In reply, Heriot’s slumped to 114 all out.
West Lothian’s difficult start to the summer continued as they were bowled out for 84 against Gala, the Borders side winning by six wickets.
Edinburgh South were well beaten by St Boswells. Chasing 217 the Capital side were 122 all out.
