Euan ROBERTSON hit 77, but it was not enough as Watsonians II were defeated by leaders Kelso in Baillie Gifford East One.
The Capital side went into the match at Craiglockhart on a high after defeating Gala last week and the bowlers did a pretty good job to restrict Kelso to 174-7 from their 50 overs.
Chris Willsdon and Kenny Rae both took two wickets for the home side while Neil Yelland and Fraser Hutchison grabbed one apiece.
In Watsonians’ reply, they lost Ryan Murray early for three as well as skipper James Easton for a duck, but Robertson dug in for a half century.
However, he ran out of batting partners as former Heriot’s man Craig Adams took four wickets and Watsonians finished up on 136 all out to lose by 38 runs.
Dunnikier are still challenging Kelso for the title after they thumped Musselburgh by eight wickets, bowling the East Lothian men out for just 50.
Edinburgh Accies put together a good run chase to reach 185-8 and defeat Heriot’s II by two wickets at Newfield.
West Lothian got the better of Edinburgh South by five wickets, with Gala defeating St Boswells.
The loss for Edinburgh South leaves them second bottom with two matches remaining.
