Just days after smashing 177 not out in a league match, Mazars Grange batsman George Munsey has been called-up to the Scotland cricket squad for next week’s matches with Ireland and next month’s World T20 qualifiers

Opening batsman Munsey has been in cracking form this summer, especially on Saturday when he hit three figures against Carlton and he has been rewarded by national head coach Grant Bradburn.

Heriot’s teenager Mark Watt is also included having just missed out on a place in the starting XI for last week’s four day Intercontinental Cup match with Afghanistan. Carlton’s Preston Mommsen will skipper the side and his club team mate Ali Evans is in the squad too.

The three matches in Ireland take place on June 18, 19 and 21 with the qualifiers – including matches at The Grange, Goldenacre and Myreside – are in July.
