With RH Corstorphine wicketkeeper Sam Flett and Carlton all-rounder Michael Castle being handed regional debuts by coach Steve Gilmour, the Knights travelled to Titwood in Glasgow in good fettle.

And, bowling first against the Western Warriors, they got off to the best possible start when Mark Watt took a wicket in the first over.

Mazars Grange’s Gordon Goudie took the key wicket of Richie Berrington for 15, having him caught by Munsey.

In the end all five bowlers used, including Carlton’s Ali Evans, captain Andrew Brock and Castle, took wickets while Flett gloved two catches.

The Warriors posted 116-8 from their 20 overs and the Knights knew that a fast start in reply would push them well on the way to victory.

And Munsey and Carson did just that, the former hitting eight boundaries in a 40-ball half century while Carson made 60.

The latter innings lasted just 32 balls and when he was out they had already reached 92.

In the end Munsey finished on 50 not out as they won by seven wickets.
