Stuart&Stuart Penicuik head into tonight’s Murgitroyd Masterton Trophy final with Mazars Grange at Grange Loan (6pm) as underdogs, but they are looking forward to the challenge.

The Midlothian men play in the Baillie Gifford ESCA Championship, the level below CSL Eastern Premiership outfit Grange.

Ahead of the showpiece Twenty20 match they have been in good form in the league though.

Last Saturday they defeated Dunnikier by nine wickets to leave them fifth at the halfway point.

And in the semi-final of this Masterton event they saw off Linlithgow away from home.

Penicuik captain Chris Ashforth said: “The guys have come together well as a unit this year and we have played some good cricket in 50 over and 20 over matches.

“We know that Grange have some top players in their side, but we want to put in a good performance and there will be a few club members there at the final to watch us.”
