Carlton’s Preston Mommsen and his Scotland team-mates now know who they will face in the ICC World Twenty20 cricket tournament in India next year.

They will play in the first round of the main event and will need to try and top a group featuring Zimbabwe, Afghanistan and Hong Kong to get the chance to play the top nations.

All of Scotland’s Group B matches in round one will take place at the Vidarbha Stadium in Nagpur.

Scotland play Afghanistan on March 8 before taking on Zimbabwe two days later. They will then play Hong Kong on March 12.

If they win their group Scotland would then face England, South Africa, West Indies and Sri Lanka in the Super 10 phase.

A number of Capital-based players will be looking to make the Scotland squad.

Group A features Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Ireland and Oman.
