Curling: Brewster begins defence of curling title at Murrayfield

World silver medallist Tom Brewster began the defence of his Edinburgh International
title against Switzerland’s
Pascal Hess at Murrayfield Ice Rink this morning. The off-form Aberdeen curler is short of confidence ahead of next month’s European Championships after winning just two matches out of eight in
Canada in recent weeks.
Local skip John Hamilton opens against Perth youngster Kyle Smith, and Ross Hepburn is part of Warwick Smith’s team which plays German John Jahr.

Edinburgh’s Colin Campbell also has a supporting role for David Edwards’ Aberdeen rink when they face Norway’s
Thomas Lovold, while
Colin Howden will aim to help Lockerbie’s Graeme Black to victory over 2010 winner
Graham Shaw.
