Some of the Capital’s leading young cyclists will have a flavour of the big time when they line up at tomorrow’s Revolution Meeting in Glasgow.

Matthias Barnett and his former Edinburgh Road Club colleague Stuart Balfour – now competing for Ronde Bicycle Outfitters – will contest the Future Stars Boys’ events, while Emma Borthwick features in a strong list of riders competing in the Girls’ competition.

Their events feature on a programme that includes Capital duo James McCallum – who sealed overall victory in the series in the corresponding meeting last season – and Evan Oliphant in the endurance events against some of Europe’s top performers as well as a host of talented Britons.

Meanwhile, City of Edinburgh duo Callum Skinner and John Paul will be in action against sprinters from Slovenia, Germany, France and the Netherlands, while their colleagues Jenny Davis and Emma Baird, the Scottish sprint champion, go up against riders from France, the Netherlands and England.

Davis and Baird have both made the successful transition from other sports and Another ride looking to do so is Ellie Richardson (Edinburgh RC), who is only in her second season of cycling since switching her sporting career from athletics and will be looking to maintain her progress against international opposition.
