Edinburgh Road Club cyclist Ellie Richardson rounded off a busy weekend at the British National Track Championships in Manchester with two podium visits.

After losing out in the bronze medal decider in the individual sprint, Richardson secured a podium finish in the 500 metres time trial where she finished third behind Katy Marchant and Vicky Williamson.

Richardson then combined with Helen Scott to take another bronze medal, this time in the team sprint.

Marchant was the star of the weekend, taking four titles and emulating last year’s achievement of Capital rider Callum Skinner who had withdrawn from the championships on Friday due to illness.

Former City of Edinburgh rider Katie Archibald was second in the individual pursuit, scratch and points races, beaten each time by double Olympic champion Laura Trott. But Archibald won gold in the team pursuit where she linked up with Ciara Horne, Jo Rowsell-Shand and Sarah Storey to clinch glory.

Edinburgh’s Phil Trodden featured in the Scotland Development squad alongside Peter Anderson, Tom Arnstein and Ruari Yeoman that took silver in the team pursuit behind a quartet drawn from the British Cycling Academy and including Scot Mark Stewart.
