James McCallum bids for Scottish Criterium Championship

Edinburgh-based James McCallum will bid for a final title in his honours-packed cycling career when he lines up for Sunday’s Scottish Criterium Championships in Stirling.

The 35 year old competes in a strong field that includes former Scottish road race champion Gary Hand, international rider Davie Lines and a squad from Rigmar Racers featuring in-form Phil Trodden.

In the women’s event, Capital teenager Louise Borthwick will be bidding for a podium finish.

Meanwhile, Evan Oliphant will race in the Prudential Ride London Classic. The 120-mile race includes Sir Bradley Wiggins and Scott Thwaites. Edinburgh’s Claire Thomas (Velo Past Montegrappa) features in a strong Scottish contingent for the women’s race.
