Capital cyclist Callum Skinner will set off on a road he hopes will end at the 2016 Olympic Games when he competes in the opening round of the UCI World Cup in Mexico next month.

The 22-year-old last week added the European kilometre time trial title to the four gold medals he scooped at the British Championships in Manchester.

Yesterday, he was listed in a 17-strong Great Britain squad to compete in Guadalajara. He features in a four-man sprint group that includes Olympic champions Jason Kenny and Phil Hindes as well as Matt Crampton, a World Cup gold medallist last season.
