Disabled golf on the up in Capital

CRAIGENTINNY staged a successful event to showcase a renewed effort by Edinburgh Leisure to promote disabled golf in the Capital.

City councillors were joined by MSPs and a group of invited guests for a fun team event with golfers representing the Scottish Disability Golf Partnership.

At one time, Edinburgh City were involved with small disabled groups, including the vision impaired and one-armed golfers, through competitions around the Capital.

Due to a combination of low numbers and financial restraints, these were discontinued in the late 1990s but now disabled golf in Edinburgh is on the up again.
