Edinburgh Uni coach Sengars to lead new women's pro basketball team
Edinburgh University women's basketball head coach, Dutchman Bart Sengars, is to take charge of the new Edinburgh-based Scottish women's professional team who will enter the British Women's Basketball League (WBBL) in October.
Sengars, who led EU to a clean sweep of the Scottish women’s honours last season, when they won Scottish Cup, Scottish League and Play-Offs, will be charged with recruiting and coaching a team of Scottish players with the aim of preparing for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia.
Sengars, who will be employed by BasketballScotland and will have a two-year appointment, is expected to announce further details at a news conference at Caledonia House tomorrow at noon.
