Edinburgh Uni defeat Jets in Scottish Volleyball Cup

Edinburgh University booked their place in the last eight of the men's Scottish Volleyball Cup by defeating Edinburgh Jets in the fourth round.

The students are unbeaten in League Two this season and took care of Jets, who are struggling in League One, in straight sets, 25-18, 25-18, 25-9.

They now face South Ayrshire, flying high in the SVL Premier, in the quarter-finals.

City of Edinburgh, the 2016 winners, also reached the last eight with a 25-13, 22-25, 25-20, 25-19 win at Volleyball Aberdeen and travel to Lenzie in the next round.

In the fourth round of the women’s Scottish Cup, City of Edinburgh set up a home quarter-final with Caledonia West by overcoming Volleyball Aberdeen away from home 25-22, 25-13, 25-22.

Edinburgh Jets also booked their place in the last eight by edging Dundee 25-21, 25-22, 25-23. Jets travel across the city to face Edinburgh University in the quarter-finals.
