In what was the American football team’s first game at their new home, Meggetland, Ross Young recovered a fumble to run in the first touchdown before Cassian Graham added a second moments later following another fumble recovery.

Scores from Steve Wilson, Stephen McFarlane and Lloyd Dignan gave the Wolves a 35-6 half-time lead. Wide receivers Stephen McFarlane and Stu Galloway both added further touchdowns before rookie quarterback Liam Brown, who made his senior debut for the final drive of the game, marched his side down the field before handing the ball off to Wilson on the goal line to complete the scoring.

Wide receiver Dignan said: “We didn’t let up because we know the end of the season might be close and may come down to points scored. 56 on a division rival could really help us.”
