England pip Scots women

In a mirror image of last week’s men’s Home International bowls series where Scotland pipped England to the title on the very last end, the women’s title decider also reached the same thrilling climax in Swansea last night, but this time England pipped the Scots by 109-108 to retain the title.

The Scots had a narrow 94-89 lead with only three ends remaining and then a holding 105-101 advantage playing the last, but it was England who rose to the challenge and produced the counts on four of their six rinks to leave the Scots reeling.
