Former Hibs defender Alan Maybury has been appointed as a coach by Championship club Falkirk.

Maybury, who also played for Hearts during a long career, was released by Hibs last month after relegation to the Championship.

He had been signed to the club by Pat Fenlon who also allowed him to learn the coaching trade at the club’s East Mains complex.

New Falkirk manager Peter Houston worked with Maybury at Hearts and at Leicester City and has given him the role of under-20s coach.

Houston told the Falkirk Herald: “With a young squad it is important to get the right man in, and I think we have that.”
