Arniston Rangers will play without fear at Kilwinning

Arniston Rangers boss Jock Landells admits his side face a massive test away to West Super League First outfit Kilwinning Rangers in the last 32 of the Scottish Junior Cup '“ but they'll do their best to spring a cup shock.

The Gorebridge outfit are just happy to still be in the cup after Christmas having booked their place in the fourth round for the first time since season 2011-12 with a 2-1 win over Neilston in December.

“We know we are underdogs but we’ll give it our best shot,” said Landells. “We’ve got nothing to lose and we’re under no pressure whatsoever. We are just delighted to still be in the cup. There is a great buzz about the place and all the supporters are all looking forward to it.

“I expect a tough game, it will be blood and thunder. The players are up for it. There is no fear amongst them. The lads are quite confident of going and trying to get a result. We’ll just play our normal game and enjoy the occasion.”

Landells, 53, had to name himself on the bench for their third-round victory due to an injury crisis at the Premier League club but he won’t have to pull his boots on this time round having snapped up experienced defender Declan Brady from Bathgate Thistle.

The centre-back joins youngster Mark Aitken in returning to the club, with the striker having arrived on loan from Fauldhouse United although he is cup tied for tomorrow’s match.

Landells added: “I’m happy that we’ve added at this time of the year because we’ve still got a lot games to play between now and May. It has given the players a wee lift going into the game.”

Arniston are also bolstered by the return of Darren Leslie and Ross Pullen from injury for the trip to Ayrshire although Kevin Moffat misses out with a groin injury.
