Bad defence downs Thistle

Edinburgh UNI took the lead in the opening minutes when Lothian failed to clear their lines and the ball fell to Jack Beacher, who slotted the ball low into the net.

Craig Wallace levelled for Lothian one minute later when he was left unmarked in the box and fired past Graham O’Brien. Daniel Main then put Uni back in front after he got on the end of a cross and his powerful header beat the advancing keeper. Lothian’s poor defending problems continued and Main was again unmarked when the ball came in and he had the simple task of placing the ball into the net from point blank range.

Scott Wallace was judged to have handled the ball in the box and Uni were awarded a penalty. Main stepped up but his powerful effort was saved well by Graham O’Brien.

James Bronlee then sealed the victory when he broke the offside trap and fired the ball emphatically into the net.
