Reports in Lancashire this morning suggest that Stubbs is on a shortlist for the job at Ewood Park, which has lain vacant since Paul Lambert departed the English Championship club a few weeks ago.

The 44-year-old has guided Hibs to two cup finals this season and those results have caught the eye of the Rovers board.

The Liverpudlian is also believed to be on Bolton Wanderers’ radar. The Trotters, who were relegated to League 1 last month, are searching for a replacement for Paul Lambert.

Stubbs is currently 5/1 to be the next Bolton boss and 16/1 for Blackburn.

Earlier this week, Stubbs said that his full focus was on winning promotion with Hibs, saying that not even an English Premier League job would distract him from the job at hand.
