Bo’ness United put a dent in Hill of Beath’s hopes of winning the East Region Super League after this draw at Newtown Park.

Indeed, Bo’ness should have taken all three points in a game where they created the more chances, and only some great goalkeeping by Stuart Hall kept Hill of Beath in the game.

Bo’ness got a deserved lead in 59 minutes when Hamilton curled a great free kick shot from 22 yards into the top corner. Hall made three tremendous stops from Donnelly (twice) and Hamilton.

The saves proved important as, with eight minutes remaining, Hill of Beath equalised with a curling free kick shot from Wright. Just before the end, Bo’ness were reduced to ten men when Shields was given a straight red for a lunging tackle on Gemmell.
