“We played really well in the second half after a poor first,” Cunningham said. “They had a player sent off with twenty minutes to go and we managed to capitalise on it.”

Sean Stewart had given the visitors an early lead but Kyle Boggie levelled things up two minutes prior to the interval.

David Stewart put the hosts ahead before Alan Brown was sent off for Colin Tomassi’s side. Chris Milligan made it three and Boggie wrapped things up with his second and Strollers’ fourth.

Elsewhere, champions Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale closed the gap on leaders Leith Athletic to 22 points with a 3-2 victory at Craigroyston. Thistle are playing catch-up on Leith with six games in hand. Goals from Richie Wilkes, Scott Gormley and Sean Wringe ensured the Saughton-based club remained in the title chase. Chris Rooney and Jason Young were on target for Craigie.
