East Stirlingshire 0 - 1 Edinburgh City: City win play-off to reach league football status
EDINBURGH City will play SPFL football next season after the Lowland League champions defeated East Stirlingshire in the play-offs.
City defeated the Shire 1-0 at Ochilview after an 87th-minute penalty from captain Dougie Gair. They win the tie 2-1 on aggregate and take East Stirlingshire’s place in League 2 next season.
It means three teams from the Capital - Hearts, Hibs and Edinburgh City - will compete in the senior leagues for the first time since 1995.
