Liam Henderson rejoins City after returning from Australia

Edinburgh City have re-signed Liam Henderson after the former Hearts and Falkirk player returned from a stint playing in Australia.

The versatile 21-year-old initially joined the Citizens on a short-term loan deal from The Bairns last November before making the move permanent in January.

That was short-lived however, as the opportunity to head down under proved to good to pass up, with Henderson able to combine playing and coaching with Stirling Lions. City manager James McDonaugh is delighted he once again chose City despite offers from elsewhere.

“We are happy to have Liam back from Australia and are delighted that he chose City over the other offers he had. He brings to us a versatility as well as a quality that is in keeping with the standard of player we have managed to recruit over the summer.”

Subject to international clearance, ‘Hendo’ will go straight into the squad for the Ladbrokes League Two season opener at home to Albion Rovers.
