Tranent crushed sorry Arniston Rangers 14-1 away from home as the East of Scotland Qualifying League continued last night.

Max Christie’s men went goal-crazy at Newbyres Park in Section A as Arniston made it 21 goals conceded in just two games since moving from the Juniors.

It’s been a tough start to life in the dugout for Arniston’s 23-year-old manager Ryan Bisset who was appointed after returning from the USA after a coaching spell with MLS outfit Chicago Fire.

Centre-back Dean Whitson struck a first-half hat-trick as a Tranent side, containing former Hearts midfielder Ian Black, led 8-1 at the half-time break.

Kayne Patterson grabbed four for himself as Tranent’s dominance continued after the interval.

Elsewhere, Linlithgow Rose face an uphill task to qualify from Section C as they lost out 2-0 away to Sauchie as their winless start to the season continued.
