Former Falkirk boss Holt to take charge at Livingston
The Premiership side have acted quickly following the shock departure of player-manager Kenny Miller earlier this week, with Holt set to take his place in the dugout for this weekend’s match at St Mirren. The 45-year-old, inset, was interviewed for the Livi job when David Hopkin left the newly-promoted side in June. The club opted for Miller but he left the club on Monday after just two league games in charge amid concerns over his ability to combine management with playing. Holt’s only previous management experience came at the Falkirk Stadium, where he was in charge from April 2013 to June 2014. Under his guidance, the Bairns took their Championship title challenge to the final day but missed out as Dundee claimed the crown. Holt’s side then bowed out of the play-offs at the semi-final stage against Hamilton. Within weeks, Holt left Falkirk to take up a coaching position at Norwich City. Holt earned ten Scotland caps during a playing career which saw him play for Kilmarnock, Norwich, Nottingham Forest, Wycombe Wanderers, Colchester United and Lowestoft Town.
