Fox happy with seventh new boss

LIVINGSTON captain Liam Fox is now on to working under his seventh permanent manager at the club – but the midfielder says the players are quite happy that interim management team of Gareth Evans and Richie Burke have been given the go-ahead to continue with first-team affairs.

Their appointment last week was followed with a 2-0 defeat at league leaders Partick Thistle, but with a Scottish Cup fourth-round tie against SPL side Dundee coming up tomorrow, Fox knows there’s a great opportunity to get back to winning ways.

He said: “With Gareth and Richie being confirmed as the new management team, I think the boys are pleased about the continuity with that decision.

“These guys have got the respect of the boys and have already worked with the players. We’re pleased the guys have been appointed and we’re just looking to kick on and get back to winning ways.

“Partick are my favourites to win the title and I think anyone who was at the game last week would have seen why. We maybe shaded the first half but then we conceded a goal from a set piece and that was pretty disappointing.

“They went on to get a second and fair play to them, they saw the game out and we probably didn’t perform as well as we could have done in that second half. But we need to take the positives from it and move on to what is a very important cup tie and a wee change from the league.”

Dundee visit on the back of a 3-1 defeat to St Mirren that left them rooted to the bottom of the SPL but Fox says that won’t make any difference tomorrow.

“We’ve come across Dundee a lot over the last couple of years, we know all about their strengths and their weaknesses and hopefully it’s going to be a good game and a good old-fashioned cup tie.

“Their league position will have no effect at all on how we look at it. We’re just concentrating on ourselves and making sure we hopefully bounce back and progress into the next round of the cup.”
