Ford, who worked with chairman Gordon McDougall in setting up the Livingston Youth Foundation in 2012, now owns 40 per cent of the club’s shares with both Neil Hogarth, a former stadium sponsor, and Graham Leslie each owning 20 per cent.

One-time chief executive Ged Nixon owns the remaining 20 per cent in the club’s shareholdings.

Livingston had written to the SFA Judicial Panel last month informing them that former principle shareholder Neil Rankine had disposed of his shares in the Championship outfit after being found guilty in April of having a controlling interest in both Livi and League 2 side, East Fife – the Lions incurring a registration embargo as a result of Rankine’s wrongdoings which, at the moment, remains in place.

Livi boss Mark Burchill spoke to the Evening News earlier this week calling on the SFA to remove the transfer ban to enable him to start rebuilding his squad for next season.

The West Lothian side have just three players under contract – goalkeeper Darren Jamieson, midfielder Scott Pittman and striker Jordan White which has prompted Ford to highlight his concerns.

“We are ready to go and get to work as an organisation and we’re hoping the issues can all be resolved and sorted by early next week,” Ford said. “Livingston is a great club and has a lot of potential.”
